What will you be drinking New Year’s Eve?

December 30, 2008 at 3:49 am (French Wine, What we're drinking) (, , )

Despite its lack of originality for the day, I will certainly be drinking bubbly on New Year’s Eve. I just can’t imagine toasting the New Year with anything fizzless. BUT, within the grand category of sparkling wine, there are many options that certainly do not lack originality. Read the rest of this entry »

The Merit of Lists

December 24, 2008 at 3:48 am (Beer, Our Favorite Things, Uncategorized, What we are thinking, What we're drinking) (, , , , , )

(I suppose lists have been on our collective Lush mind … I actually started writing this a few days before Jane’s post on lists, and am finally getting around to finishing!)

About one year ago, I decided that I was going to start a little project in my beloved Moleskine: each day, I would write a list, with themes dependent only on my whim that day. Read the rest of this entry »

Drinking a Vintage: 2003

December 16, 2008 at 4:37 pm (French Wine, Travel, What we are thinking, What we're drinking) (, , , , , )

2003 was hot. I remember. It was the summer before I entered college (to date myself horribly), and I was touring around Europe with my family. Heat records were set in every country we visited, and my sister and I took every opportunity to complain about it. Little did I know, that a few years down the line, I would be contemplating what that sticky, sweltering summer meant for the wine I was drinking. Read the rest of this entry »

LUSH website is now live!

December 16, 2008 at 4:26 pm (Uncategorized)

www.lushwineandspirits.com

Check it out!  We will be pulling together a super fantastic, functional, informative, and irreverent interactive experience with LUSH online.  Chip Russell of Distortion Designs is the master webdesigner behind the project.  Check back often as we progress toward a fully outfitted website…sign up for the School of Lush, coordinate events, a comprehensive listing of up to date inventory, a beer geeky page, a wine geeky page, and a tasting schedule…and lots of fun.  I expect it to be gorgeous and user friendly as well…like being in LUSH, but on your computer at home!

Cheers!
