Imbibers One Hundred

November 18, 2008 at 2:01 am (What we're drinking) (, , )

As long as we’re talking about lists…

Darcy O’Neil, a fun and witty writer out of Ontario, maintains a blog called Art of Drink, on which he recently compiled a list called the “Imbibers One Hundred”. This list is comprised of 100 things he thinks you should drink before you die. He says of it: “This list isn’t all encompassing, nor is it a ‘good stuff only’ list. There are a few things that may make you pause. In most cases the list is not brand specific, but for certain things it is, because of the world wide popularity. Feel free to participate, or not, but it is a good exercise to see what you are missing in life.”

His instructions are:

1) Copy this list into your blog, with instructions.
2) Bold all the drinks you’ve imbibed.
3) Cross out any items that you won’t touch
4) Post a comment here and  link to your results.

OR

If you don’t have a blog, just count the ones you’ve tried and post the number in the comments section.

I put in bold the items that I have had.  79 out of 100 ain’t bad. I didn’t cross any out. I don’t want to say I would never try anything once, although Perique — a tobacco liqueur — does sound pretty gross to me. This is a fun list, and makes you think about all the amazing, delectable things there are to try in the world. Enjoy! And please comment — What’s your number? Any of these that you wouldn’t touch?
